Description

As a Visual/UI Designer, you will be an active part of the Digital Team. He/She will be responsible for designing for a variety of client accounts, participating in brainstorming sessions, working with Brand Managers to compile accurate quotes and timelines for projects, writing rationales in support of his/her work, and learning and staying up to date on design trends, principles and techniques in order to provide the best work for our clients.

We are looking for a mid-level visual designer who can collaborate with teams to bring our voices, stories, and concepts to life. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in graphic design and has experience in brand identity, UI, print with extra credit for illustration and motion. In this role, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team and tackle all aspects of the design process from site maps and user flows to wire frames and communicating the overall project story to the client team.

Being a visual designer at MESH means you’ll routinely work on a diverse portfolio of projects that spread across brand identity, art direction and visual design for screens, print and storytelling. We are looking for designers who want to blend visual strategy and graphic design to tell powerful stories about our designs. Responsibilities

Design

  • UI/UX design for websites and applications
  • Create looks like/works like prototypes that help tell a project’s story.
  • Design for a variety of clients across a wide number of industries.
  • Learn about and stay up to date on design trends, principles and techniques.
  • Utilize principles of human-centered design to create educated and rational design decisions.
  • Be able to defend your design decisions with a user-first rationale.
  • Learn and understand the principles of user experience design.

Marketing

  • Research and understand the client’s industry, competition, history, goals and objectives and make thoughtful design decisions relevant to that information.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies from a design perspective

Teamwork

  • Participate and occasionally lead brainstorming sessions with other team members in order to quickly determine strategy and direction for a client.
  • Offer input and guidance to co-workers in a constructive, encouraging way.
  • Be willing to teach or pass along knowledge to co-workers.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design
  • Extensive experience in the Adobe software suite InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and XD
  • Additional skills in UI design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Framer or InVision Studio
  • Experience in concept ideation, design strategy, and digital prototyping
  • Ability to give direction, communicate ideas quickly and clearly, and tell compelling project stories to clients
  • Ability to quickly switch between tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • An eye for detail and a desire for pixel-perfect design
  • Time management skills and the ability to adhere to deadlines
  • Experience at an agency or in-house marketing team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, or related field
  • Experience in WYSIWYG web-building platforms such as Squarespace or Webflow
  • Additional skills in digital prototyping tools like Principle and InVision
