Selling Quack

With a little help from MESH, the Baton Rouge Ducks Unlimited (DU) chapter’s sponsor list is taking flight once more. In recent years, the chapter’s annual Sponsor Event had experienced a gradual decline in attendance and subsequent donations. But that’s changing now, thanks in part to a coordinated effort between agency and client.

A visual makeover of the event collateral and the hard work of everyone involved resulted in the 2012 event, which commemorated DU’s 75th anniversary, raising more than $125,000 for the organization and attaining 13 new Major Sponsor commitments exceeding $100,000.

A large part of the event marketing strategy involved a rebrand which included components such as a save-the-date card and invitation, event program, and commemorative poster, each featuring the new motif. We combined rich brown and tan hues, rustic textures evoking hand-hewn woodcarvings and time-honed vintage papers with thoughtfully selected full-color wildlife photography to create pieces that carried an air of sophistication appropriate to the important stature of the event, yet were imbued with an inviting warmth and familiarity recalling a favorite hunting camp.
